Q: Why should I buy a Ledlenser light?
A: Simply put, Ledlenser torches and headlamps use light output more efficiently than any other lights on the market. This means when you compare a Ledlenser light with one of equal lumens from a competitor (both ANSI-certified), the Ledlenser light will appear brighter.
This is achieved through a lens/reflector optic called the Advanced Focus System (AFS). Ledlenser lights are the only products to use AFS in the world.
Ledlenser products have an industry-leading warranty that covers defects in manufacturing, up to 7 years.
Q: I have an issue with my Ledlenser torch or headlamp. How do I find out if it qualifies for repair or replacement under the Ledlenser warranty?
A: We have information about the Ledlenser warranty (what it covers, timeframe, and more) on our Ledlenser Warranty Information page.
Q: I am having trouble registering my Ledlenser for the 7-year warranty. Can you help?
A: Find step-by-step instructions for registering your Ledlenser product here.
Q: My Ledlenser is not working correctly. Are there any quick fixes I can try?
A: Make sure that you check that the batteries are not flat and try new, high quality alkaline batteries. Also ensure that the transport lock is not on (hold down the main switch of the headlamp/torch for 5 seconds to disengage the transport lock or remove batteries to reset to factory mode). Please also check that the product is not in the wrong mode (e.g. professional mode, easy mode, defense mode, strobe etc.).
Q: I have a rechargeable model that I won't be using for a few months. How should I store it?
A: Rechargeable Ledlenser headlamps and torches should be stored with at least 40-60% charge. When storing for long periods, they should be recharged at least once every 3 months. This will assist with prolonging the life and performance of the batteries.
Q: What do I do if my alkaline battery leaks and damages my torch/headlamp?
A: Ledlenser’s warranty does not cover damages from battery leakage. However, many of the brand name battery manufacturers do warrant their batteries and the devices powered by them. When storing headlamps and torches for extended periods, we recommend that the batteries are removed to prevent damage caused by leaking batteries.
Q: How does Ledlenser measure and report its lighting specifications?
A: Ledlenser lights are measured in lumens. Ledlenser uses ANSI/FL1 standards as published by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA). To date, this is the only industry-wide, agreed-upon standard of measurement.
Q: Where can I buy a Ledlenser from?
A: There are a number of authorised Ledlenser stockists throughout New Zealand. Please see our stockist page here for the locations of your nearest Ledlenser retailers. If your local stockist does not have the model you are after, they will be able to order it in for you.
Alternatively, you can order Ledlenser products from this website – please see our Shipping and Returns page for information on freight and time-frames.
Q: How do I choose the right Ledlenser product for me?
A: Ledlenser has an extensive range of products, which means that while there is the right product for everyone, the choice can appear overwhelming!
Factors you should think about when choosing the right torch or headlamp for you is what you want to use it for (eg if you are using it around water then you should look closely at the waterproof ratings), what feature is most important (e.g. brightness, beam range or battery life) and how much you want to spend. We have tried to provide a guide by sorting the models into some of the different activities you might want to use your light for – hunting, outdoor, sport, everyday use and industrial.
If you have any questions about choosing the right model please feel free to reach out to us via the contact form on this website or on our social media pages on Facebook and Instagram.
Q My Ledlenser only flashes when I try to turn it on, even though it is fully charged. How do I fix this?
Your headlamp or torch is most likely in Travel/Transportation lock mode, this prevents your Ledlenser from accidentally being turned on while in a pack or suitcase. To turn on Travel lock hold down the on/off button until it flashes, your Ledlenser is now in Travel lock mode. When the on/off button is engaged the light will flash to indicate it has power, but is locked. To take it out of Travel lock mode hold the on/off button down until it blinks, take pressure off the on/off button and push it once, the light should come on.
